With computer hacking and cyber crime becoming ever more sophisticated, security is critical. And as most data centres are located in vulnerable urban areas, there’s also the very real risk of accidental or deliberate physical damage to your servers.

Smartbunker - the UK’s most secure data centre

Located deep underground in a remote ex-NATO nuclear bunker, Smartbunker is a 30,000 square foot, world-class, purpose-built data centre, with three-metre thick steel and tungsten reinforced walls. Add to this state-of-the-art electronic defences, automatic fail-over - which guarantees that faults have minimal or no impact on service availability - bullet-proof physical security, and optional fully-managed firewalls.

The seven acre Smartbunker site is surrounded by 9-ft high MOD fencing topped with barbed wire and covered 24/7 by internal and external high definition CCTV.

All visitors are registered using biometric and image capture systems to provide positive identification. They must then pass through a high security entry system and at least 8 layers of controlled access before gaining access to data suites.

Only vetted and qualified technicians are allowed access to data suites. Clients and contractors are never allowed access to shared areas unaccompanied.
